Plenty of time and plenty of class in the Sussex batting line up.

Lancs bowling attack is useless. If your mob don’t win this then Kirtley and Salisbury should be put in stocks on the outfield and you lot throw stuff at them.

Not annoyed at Pujara as he’s been fantastic and we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him but he’s chewed up 31 deliveries for his 10 and the RRR is now up to 8 rpo. Might have been better to get Delray in now to up the run rate before it gets out of reach. Would hate to fall short with wickets in hand.

I am not going to deny I still hold reservations about the suitability of Salisbury and Kirtley as Head Coaches, but they deserve full credit for the part they have played in getting this group of players through to the semi-final of this competition. Having had the opposition at 67-5 and having been 118-1 after 20 overs in reply, if we don't get over the line then I would suggest any focus should be on the players rather than the Coaches. Having said that, it has still been a tremendous overall effort and we have achieved far more than I suspect any of us had expected before the tournament commenced. Everyone involved should be proud of their contributions over the last month.

In fairness Joe, he has done that in all his previous innings. He just has the knack of accelerating without any great fuss as his innings progresses and before you know it, he goes from 50 runs per 100 balls to a run a ball. It had to catch up with him (and the team) and unfortunately today was the day. Haines now gone aswell, it will need something special from someone now.

If you let a team go from 67-5 to 319-8 you probably don't deserve to win. 10 off 31 balls isn't quick enough. Stream is rubbish (keeps dropping out). Issue today is not the coaches but the players lacking the killer instinct. Too many batsmen getting starts and getting out when set.
Yet again the two teams who finished top fail to qualify for the final.

Kent have beaten Hants with a 46 year old seeing them home.

Good comp bad day. Season over thanks to those two muppets at the top. We could have been pushing for promotion over these last few weeks had we brought in an OS bowler when one was needed - or even took a punt on Karvelas earlier while he was running in for the 2s. Both horrific decisions from Greenfield & Andrew. Thanks a lot ya bums. Really hope we can get rid of them this October. They've had 6 years & took us from mediocre to frankly embarrassing at times.
Well done to the players & coaches for this little run though. Fantastic batting performances from a settled side, today excluded. If we don't put this extra bit of cash into a OS player this year we should put it into our live stream. It is pants compared to all the others I've seen.

Bad day to have a bad day. Should have been a walk in the park for that batting line up, but not to be. Great tournament though, it has injected much needed joy and good to see the youngsters to get into winning ways. Now all that awaits is a miserable Sept with 3 county championship games 😞

I told myself at the start of the day that even if the result didn't go our way, I wasn't going to be disappointed.
This has been a great campaign, where we have had some excellent results and seen some outstanding individual performances.
I don't believe many of us, if indeed anyone genuinely believed we would win six matches, top our qualifying group and end up with a home semi-final.
Having said that, I am struggling to stay true to my word given we had them 67-5 and opportunities like that don't present themselves that often. Without doubt a place in the final was within our grasp.
Interestingly, our three defeats have all come chasing par totals that should have in no way been imposing. When we batted first and set totals, we set targets comfortably above what we could defend.
Of greater concern is as CP pointed out our inability to apply the 'killer instinct'. I have lost count of how many good positions we have got ourselves into over the last couple of seasons to then fail to press home a clear advantage. This has been a recurring theme in all competitions and is clearly something that needs looking at and addressing.
Having said all of the above, full credit to the Team and Coaches. A fantastic effort over the past month, which has given the supporters some long overdue optimism.
Hopefully, this will now translate to the red ball format and will result in much improved performances in the remainder of this season and continue into next.

Yes, can’t add too much to that Devon.
Disappointing day but great campaign.

A Disappointing end to a great campaign in which I think we fell into a winning habit by accident and to having Pujara in the middle.disguises the work by our coaching duo laraul and hardy.

There’s a rumour flying around that Salisbury is about to be sacked. Anyone else heard about this? I am sure it is just wishful thinking.

No fairytale ending but lots of evidence in this competition to encourage optimism about next season. Particularly pleased at the improvement in the bowling.
Tough on Tom Haines to have watched the team play out of their skins while he was injured only to lose when he returns but good to see him get a score today.
Important now to maintain progress in the remaining championship games to keep positive vibes over the winter.

There’s a rumour flying around that Salisbury is about to be sacked. Anyone else heard about this? I am sure it is just wishful thinking. Dunno, wherever the loop is I'm not in it. Gordy might know, he's in it, on it, round it & making tea for it all day. Unless the man's had a major dust up then I don't see the point in going now. I know this though, a very highly thought of DOC, Farbrace, is looking for a job down south. What would anyone give for that fella to replace the hapless sock-puppet we have driving the county into the minor counties? Minor counties that don't exist according to tea-boy. Farbrace, Grizz, Flower... yeah, that's where the money needs to go.
