There’s a rumour flying around that Salisbury is about to be sacked. Anyone else heard about this? I am sure it is just wishful thinking. I was at the game today and one of the stewards said he had already gone! I certainly didn’t see him at the ground all day today

If the rumour is true why only Salisbury, why not Kirtley too? Perhaps, it is more than just about results?

Kirtley gave today’s post match interview, and has fronted the recent pre match quotes. Suggests either Sals has personal problems or something else.

Did the club say why Robinson didn’t play? Crawley played for the London Spirit tonight.

Kirtley is in charge of the white ball squad so would naturally give the post match interviews. The 100 ball is the ECB “baby”, so obviously gives that all the support it can.

A really good effort by the Sussex lads in this competition. The managers, Salisbury and Kirtley deserve very little applause. This season there are clear pointers to confused thinking around selection and tactics. Fact. If Salisbury has gone then Kirtley should go too. Why wasn't Haines captain yesterday? Pujara is a poor captain;decent bat though.

I disagree. Pujara is constantly encouraging and chatting to his bowlers during a match and leads by example, unlike Bopara who does little if any interaction.
Pujara has greatly helped improve the squad under his leadership, is a calming influence in the dressing room, and pretty much single-handedly along with a few other players got the team to the One-Day Cup semi-finals.
He has been the best Sussex O/S signing since Mushy.
Just a pity the pressure of the occasion and the ensuing nerves affected his batting yesterday. Quite uncharacteristic.

If Pujara returns next season he should be captain. Salisbury strange he's not been seen or heard shame same can't be said for JK sooner both are gone the better followed by Greenfield.

I've enjoyed this year's 50-over competition. It leaves me thinking that membership has been excellent value this season. Seeing several young players come through and, of course, Pujara in action has brought a lot of pleasure - the most for a few seasons, to be honest. If only we had sorted out the bowling weaknesses earlier in the season rather than taking on random loanees, it could have been an even better season. The current squad gives me hope that with a couple of astute acquisitions we can gain promotion to Division 1 of the CC next year. Of course, a couple of bad decisions or a couple of departures could make that all look quite different.

Pujara, is an excellent captain. He has the total support of his players on and off the pitch , leads by example and has a calming influence on the youngsters. All the players appear to have taken their game to a new level in the 50/50 and this is down to him. Most pleasing are the performances of Rawlings, who finally appears to be showing the potential we all know he has. Hope the county do all they can to bring him back next season and as captain in the 4 day & 50/50 competitions.

No, Kirtley is the T20 head coach only officially. Salisbury is the head coach for the CC and 50 overs. See the coaching profiles on the website and Google the announcements of their appointments.

I can see Kirtley taking over as overall head coach in the future, I'm afraid I'm not so impressed with Salisbury, especially after that forum in November.

Yes Ashington he did let himself down at the forum. Saying he would hold Brown to his contract; nonsense. Kirtley must not take over as head coach. His T20 campaign was chaotic with the only clear message that high profile players will come in and out instead of developing the young talent. Clueless. Kirtley also comes across as quite aloof; never a friendly wave or smile to the crowd. If Kirtley survives then it must be under a more experienced head coach.
