Congrats to Ali the AGH! Orr on 150 & 1000 runs for the season. What a player, get him on the Lions tour. My player of the season, followed by Clark then Carter, and fully warranted. All academy grads & all batsmen. Where's he going with this? Bang that drum boy.
We could win this game.

Think you may have forgotten who our bowlers are in your excitement there LS but yes, a stirring recovery. The good ship sails on … the Ali Ali Orr again. Had thought Alsop was nailed on as my player of the season but I’m having second thoughts.

Yeah all me chips are on Carson Squaro, make no bones about that. I forgot about Alsop, another batter, he's 4th.
Congrats to Haines, two tons in a day & beautifully done too. Again, what a player. And again, I think he's a batsman. There's something in all this. Maybe we should remember Haines is young, 1st year in captaincy & has some pretty ordinary, to be generous, options in the field all year. He'd be better with a couple of quicks to hang his hat on, you'd think.
Should have picked two spinners.

We should have picked Coles and Carter. I still cannot see why we picked Ashraf and Ibrahim as neither offers anything with the bat or the ball. Even though Orr (well done on 1,000 runs and give him his county cap) and Haines, he needs 236 for 1,000 runs, have batted well unless Alsop (he needs 73 for 1,000 runs) and Clark (needs 238 for 1,000 runs) score big we will lose as it is 4 out all out as the batting from 5 down with the possibe exception of Tear is absoutely hopeless. Sussex don't have the bowing to take ten wickets as Hunt is top wicket taker with a absoute pathetic 18 wickets.

Looks like we're going for the win. 125 all out, Carson 7-37 anyone? Our batting is brilliant. We have so much quality there & plenty coming through, two or three having already been dipped in & done well. But they're constantly thinking even if we do score big we're still not gonna win. Or they're constantly chasing big totals. It's not good for the brain & it's not good for the skipper either. No wonder he's been left floundering, having to captain our attack all year. This side needs no other signings other than two OS bowlers - Ishant & Yadav for me. Experienced, available all year, probably, & both good in England. Nobody else needed, other than the complete clear out of the office & coaching staff, barring Flower. You know we’re not going to agree on this!😀😉 I’d still say you’re showing too much faith in our batting. This morning was pretty poor, last week at Durham and the week before against Worcestershire weren’t great either. Plus we literally only have 4 specialist batsmen in the club it would seem. I know you responded last week with a list of batting options, but they were either all rounders, keeper-batsmen or kids that aren’t even on the staff. What we’re witnessing at this current moment is marvellous, but let’s not get carried away…we need Pujara. |

No chance Ash. There's a better glue than even Pujara & it's a bowling attack. Our batters know we can't win, however well they do. They're constantly fighting an uphill battle cos of our attack, not cos we're missing Pujara. We have batters galore, producing time & time again. Frankly, I'm beginning to think that anyone who doesn't think we need two OS bowlers is a bit funny in the head. What are ya watching?

Who's the moany commentator that Adrian Harms is having to suffer in the commentary box? I know the wicket is easy to bat on but Glamorgan asked us to bat again. Now, he's moaning about the sun on the scoreboard and wanting to get off the field as it is too difficult to field. He obviously thought Glamorgan would win and get promoted. He's clearly gutted. I think he needs a beer or two.

Maybe the ECB will give us special dispensation to sign 5 overseas bowlers on compassionate grounds if the Hove wicket is like this again next year! But let that take nothing away from our two wonderful young openers who’ve lifted us from the depths of despair this afternoon.

I am with Liquid, batters galore - you worried about us only having 4 top class batters is nuts, we aren't the Test side. Plenty of contributions if you have the current top 4 performing. FHP, Garton, Tear, Carter, Ibrahim, Coles, Rawlins, Carson (when not goosing the Director of Cricket's daughter!!) Lenham, can all hold a bat lads.

Batters galore, yes. Not in this game, Carter, Coles, Myra, Rawlins. Make no mistake about it, these are batters. They ain't all-rounders, no sir. Don't believe the hype. Then we promote the three from the yoot in the 2s, you got plenty.
I know you're not the only one, I dunno what percentage I am as an individual on here but whatever that is, that's who's in my boat. Your boat's massive. You can sail away to all your boring draws at Pancake Hove. I know wickets win matches & I like winning. No idea why you lot can't see it. Is batting more important? We have 5 good batsmen without Pujara. We have zero good bowlers without Robinson or the OS. Work it out brainiac.
