Faheem Ashraf..... money well spent ..... Got to be one of the worst overseas we’ve ever had. Would have been better to give one of the bowlers in the Sussex Prem a 3 game run out. Or alternatively played another batter. Whoever made this decision to bring in Ashraf needs to be let go.

Why haven't we declared? Our bowlers should be told to give it their all and try to bowl Glamorgan out. Root bowling seam. Getting farcical. If Kirtley is in charge he hasn't got a clue.

What was the rough content of the Ian Salisbury post on the Sussex website that has since been removed?

Scathing criticism of Sussex management from Nick Friend in his match report in The Cricketer online. He gives them both barrels. Referring to the length of time Tom Haines spent in the middle during this match, he describes it as "a show of leadership not evident elsewhere". He refers to the "mishandling" by the county of the Ian Salisbury statement, with it leaking out via the BBC, and lists the eight former players who are now playing their cricket at Div 1 counties, and suggests, not unreasonably, that other counties are inevitably going to be interested in snapping up our current opening pair. He also states that "There have to be serious question marks over the position of Keith Greenfield". Referring to Hunt being our leading wicket taker with 18, he adds "To give further context to that miserable statistic, the 17 other counties all have a bowler with at least 30 wickets. No one at Sussex has cracked 20". He also refers to the 29 players picked this season... "among them an entire team's worth of temporary reinforcements: four loanees, four overseas players and three more on short-term contracts" It definitely is time for marching! Marching to the Chairman's office to demand sweeping changes to the personnel!!! If Sussex think they can start next season with the current coaching/management set-up they are deluded - it will be the end of a once great club.

Interesting to see what Jon Filby does.
Sack Rob Andrew and Keith Greenfield? I very much doubt it. This requires a helluva lot of courage.
Flower to take over Salisbury's role? Absolutely. And why have two coaches. Just give it all to Flower and bring back Yardy as batting coach... again. Since Jon Lewis left our bowling has gone AWOL apart from Robinson. Do we really expect Archer to make a triumphant return?
Sadly, unlikely.
The batting development has been promising. Our seam bowling, a disaster.

Significant management and coaching changes are needed, and promptly. The whole ethos of the club needs an immediate reboot.
Those with Sussex truly flowing through their blood need to be heavily involved.
The current state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue.

The new management shouldn't have any historical ties with Sussex or private schools in Sussex. We need some clear, clean unbiased thinking that can't be influenced by biased influencers.

I cannot see Sussex attracting better than Pujara and Karvelas (I understand Rizwan has been signed for the T20 with possibly Rashid Khan still to come and Karvelas has signed a one-year contract as overseas player). Any news on the exit of Kirtley, Greenfield and Andrew? Sadly not.

Too much chopping and changing as the following XI shows:
Seifert 1 game Burrows 2 games Crane 2 games Brooks 2 games Beard 3 games Stewart 1 game Garton 1 game Tear 2 games Karvelas 2 games Ashraf 3 games Hudson-Prentice 3 games
That's only 22 games between 11 players!

Fair play to The Cricketer Magazine this season.
Three years ago the publication tentatively began its pay to read policy, where only, perhaps, 5 percent of the written articles had a paywall. This season that level has
now increased to 50 percent.
Being a journalist I wish them every good luck.
The holy grail for a journo is for every article published to be a pay to view. If 50p is
charged per article and the journalist writes ten major articles a month, where each
attracts, say, just 1,000 page views, there is a tidy sum awaiting. To be exact, £5,000.
Finally, journalism becomes viable again where quality research and original writing
is encouraged. No-more does a publication become enslaved by advertisers pushing for a particular political program or a woke agenda.
For the first time in some years, a majority of publications can become truly independent,
and away from the claws of corrupt elite forces.
To read the Nick Friend piece about Sussex, mentioned above, the cost is a mere 30p. What do your reckon?
