Oh, my boat got bigger. Welcome a broad. It'll get bigger still over the winter. Are you at a loose end tonight, liquidskin ? Good posting effort today. Anyway, do you think we need an overseas batsman or an overseas bowler?

I have a foot in both boats, so hope they don’t head off in opposite directions. Like I said before, it depends on several factors but especially who becomes available. No point in signing a couple of pie throwers just because they’re from a different country and it won’t be easy to attract the best to bowl on a featherbed in Div 2. But if we can, I’d buy into that.

Carnage and records tumbling again. Well played Tom Haines and Ali Orr. Delightful. Although this Hove Pitch, when it dies, it really dies. Needs to be dug up and relaid. I can help! I am with Liquid, batters galore - you worried about us only having 4 top class batters is nuts, we aren't the Test side. Plenty of contributions if you have the current top 4 performing. FHP, Garton, Tear, Carter, Ibrahim, Coles, Rawlins, Carson (when not goosing the Director of Cricket's daughter!!) Lenham, can all hold a bat lads. Batters galore? Our top 4 in this match are our only specialists. After that it just looks too bits and pieces. Yes plenty of them can bat, but when your non-specialists start at 5, I just think it makes the tail look long. Are our first innings performance here and Durham last week suddenly erased from memory? And to those two of you saying we’ve got tonnes of batting and the Hove pitches are featherbeds in the same breath…not spotted the slight contradiction there…?

I cannot see Sussex attracting better than Pujara and Karvelas (I understand Rizwan has been signed for the T20 with possibly Rashid Khan still to come and Karvelas has signed a one-year contract as overseas player).

Interesting insider info CP. We don't need Rashid; but I expect you are unable to influence this. Any news on the exit of Kirtley, Greenfield and Andrew?

I agree, I think we should move on from Rashid, the mystery factor seems to have gone now, and he's available for less and less games. Rizwan plus a seamer such as McCoy again?

How desperately unlucky for Ali Orr - he deserved the Double Hundred

None of it matters any more, today we're playing for nothing, we could make a game of it as they need a win I think but we'd be on a hiding to nothing.
Come April we will have RA & KG still in place, with JK at the helm & our OS will be Karvelas, who they deemed not good enough for the firsts for about a month, & Pujara.
We'll draw & lose all our games, especially at Pancake Hove, & continue to just bore or frustrate before ending up at the bottom of Strauss' conference league halfway through 2024 & all our top young players will wanna leave to play for a team with ambition for once.
I'm gonna drop cricket & concentrate on my knitting for a while.
So long suckers, we'll meet again, don't know where don't know when. Sing it you ***ing idiots.
Peace out.

I think a few (many) of the players will be glad to see the end of Salisbury. He got rid of some before they were due and ready, upset others who wanted to leave. This move might just keep some of the young ones at Sussex and senior few as well. Providing they get the right person in. Kirtley is not the right man!

The loss of four wickets in the first 90 minutes leads me to wonder whether Glamorgan have messed up here. If they had scored runs when batting seemed easy yesterday afternoon, their bowlers could have woken up fresher and ready to take wickets. They, of course, still may succeed here with a run chase. 200-250 in 45 overs will be well within their grasp, I would think. Haines needs to keep going and make it a tough run chase.

If Glamorgan need to chase down 225 in 28 overs, they ought to be favourites, but at least it will be a decent way to end the season.
