Aawww bless, it’s any excuse to defend him with some unique form of spin isn’t it. You see it as a sharing of duties because it’s such a demanding role, everyone else sees it as his role being redefined because, let’s face it, performances under his watch as performance director have been pretty dire. He’ll focus more on bringing players through from the academy.

Sharing duties is the very last thing you should do.
Put one person in charge and have a clear line of command.
The success or failure of the team is then his, and his alone.
If he thinks the coaches below him aren't up to scratch then back him and replace.
If he says he needs to sign a couple of bowlers, back him and find the funds to do it.
If after doing that for three years things are no better, then it is his fault and you sack and replace.
The moment people start sharing responsibility the line of command and who carries the can if things go badly gets blurred.
So, you give Farbrace the job, tell him it's all down to him. You don't interfere, you just let him get on with it.

To constantly criticise the geezer when you actually have no clue other than being drip fed what they want you to Wikileak.

I have a friend who’s son has been through the system at Hove and is now a pro. I therefore have a lot of insight into what goes on behind closed doors and the personalities within the club. Grubby is generally regarded as a good bloke but someone who is socially awkward and in way above his head in his present role.
I get the impression that Farbrace will command much more respect.
Only time will tell but I feel a lot better about the future of Sussex CCC now than I have for the last few years.

In case you hadn’t noticed, we’ve been pretty abysmal over the last 3 years in particular, so no agenda required. No clue about what? His role will be redefined…that’s not me having an agenda.

Confirmed by Squeaky at the presser that Grubby has been demoted. He’ll now having nothing to do with the mens team and will just focus on the pathways etc

Just watched the interview. I liked a lot what I heard from Farbrace. My only concern is that someone has filled his head with rubbish about Kirtley. How crap must Kirtley be before he gets the boot?
It is going to be very interesting to see how the Farbrace era pans out.

Do we know Kirtley is crap?
It may just be the bowlers aren't as good as the batters, and at home they bowl on flat tracks.
The greatest coach in the world wouldn't be able to turn me in to Jimmy Anderson, because, well, if I'm honest, I'm not good enough.

Let’s not forget that Kirtley has been T20 coach the last couple of years rather than specifically bowling coach. I’d like to see him get the bowling coach as I think he’s got something about him, always thought he came across much better than Salisbury.

As I said in an earlier post, I expect Farby to oversee on and off the pitch. and you'd be wrong

Farby has worked with the best of the best if he keeps Kirtles on then I trust his judgement

Like it or not he did nothing for our young bowlers last season. His management of the T20 was shambolic. I just get the impression his comms skills with the younger lads is poor; based on watching many of the games. A seriously good player but should not be in a coaching role at Sussex. I'm sure Farbrace will come to his own conclusions.
