Karvelas is still an overseas player. Player & club are trying to sort out his immigration papers.
Will play 50/50 , this season.
Next season should all be completed. This was always the plan.

So i would go with this 11 in Batting order:
Orr
Haines
Pujara (c)
Alsop
Clark
Carter (wk)
McAndrew
Garton
H-P
Carson
Crocombe
The 2 missing out are:
Hunt
Ibrahim
Given the weakness of the bowling attack, I would be tempted to include Hunt in place of Clark, given the packed allrounders of Carter, McAndrew, Garton and H-P. Harsh on Ibrahim, but i regard him as next cab off the rank in terms of batters.

All a bit sloppy so far. A few mis fields and plenty of pies from Hunt.
The decision at the toss reeked of safety first. Looks a decent deck and we may be chasing our tails in this one.

Of all the players we now have on our books, I’m gutted that our opening bowlers for the season turned out to be Crocombe and Hunt. Hopefully they’ll both become fine players but they’re not ready to lead our attack.

Is Currie injured? He would have been a better bet
than Garton who is shot as a red ball bowler.

I wouldn’t write off Garton so quickly. He’s been recovering from a severe health problem. No surprise if he’s not yet back to his best but hopefully he will be.

Durham brought bazball to Hove yesterday, the short boundary didn’t help but it’ll be the same for our batters. Some sloppy ground fielding (Crocombe the main culprit) and some dropped catches skewed the bowling figures somewhat.
Get these last 3 wickets early and I’m confident our batters can rack up a big score in the sunshine in front of a sell-out crowd.

Great to see McAndrew take 5 wickets on debut. Looks like we’re going to get a decisive result after Durham’s positivity.
