Well that was stressful! A great win to start the season, but still plenty to improve upon. Yeah and that's the exciting thing. We are seeing our young squad blossoming in amongst some very good old pros. We we're terrible for the first 3 hours of this game and it's testament to the coach and the captain to keep this young side going given they haven't had a lot of success in their careers. |

Congratulations to Oli Carter for his mature batting performances in both innings - in both cases, when the team really needed him to step up. He also kept very well. Seems like his time in Australia during the winter was time very well spent. Congratulations too to the bowlers for their vastly improved performance in Durham’s second innings.

Just listened to Farbrace's post match interview. The difference in approach and mindset compared to Salisbury is huge. None of the of hiding behind the fact that they're young players, none of the looking for excuses or mitigating circumstances. Just focused on winning games and raising the levels of expectation. He must give the players so much more belief and confidence compared to what they've listened to for the past 2 years.

Leics beating Yorks at Headingley was a turn up and one of the most astonishing fightbacks in county championship matches this century.
Usually Leics are the whipping boys considered fairly easy prey for other counties to secure points in their quest for advancement (rather like Italy in 6 Nations rugby) but if this isn't a flash in the pan there will be no easy matches for Sx or any other county and Div 2 could be a tight competition with few points separating first and last place.

All a bit sloppy so far. A few mis fields and plenty of pies from Hunt. The decision at the toss reeked of safety first. Looks a decent deck and we may be chasing our tails in this one. so good to see the Sussex bowlers bending their backs and taking loads of wickets 😂 Well this post aged well  ! Nah leave them on here, it's even funnier wen they go quiet. Just read through his posts and they are all negative although a few likes which suited the narrative at the time. Great start yes but its 1 win and we will be thoroughly tested by Yorkshire so fingers crossed Ollie is fit. |

It’s impressive how the team turned things round and we bowled very well for the rest of the game. A very fine performance and a great show of character. And a cracking game of cricket |

And a cracking game of cricket Yep it was a hard watch and i know everyone said how well Carter kept but i counted 6 times in that 3 hours he spilled the ball (luckily no dropped catches) he does need to improve in that area however if there are improvements to e made and we are winning who knows where this team can go. |
