Why does the club website say that tickets for today are “sold out” with a request that people do not come along unless they have a ticket? There are literally several hundred available seats in the south west stand currently and quite a few at the north east corner of the ground. Seems a strange way to go about generating much needed revenue. I know a lot of tickets were given away for today but that can’t be the whole story. As for the cricket, a very good performance by Sussex to polish off the tail at minimal cost in under 45 minutes. McAndrew impressive in taking 5 on debut

To get a good crowd in on a bank holiday and make money back from merchandise and food/drink sales. Plus if people enjoy themselves then they're likely to come again if its priced well (which unfortunately it isn't at Sussex in any format).

Another ton for Pujara. He will get a thousand runs again this season easy!

First time an overseas bowler has taken a 5fer since Magoffin in 2016!

A good crowd yesterday albeit not a sell-out. Hopefully some of them will want to come back and pay for a ticket today after an entertaining day of cricket and the promise of good weather again.
McAndrew looks a good signing. He’s a strong bloke who looks as if he can run in all day and is more than handy with the bat. Considering he’s still got jet lag, a very encouraging start.

Delighted that the two O/S signings did so well yesterday. As Joe says McAndrew looks to be an excellent addition. But, without our two O/S, Sussex would have already lost this game.
Surely, this has to be the season, when our youngsters move up another level, especially our bowlers. If not, the Andrew experiment is in tatters.

Fynn H-P has come in as a concussion replacement for Garton who was hit on the helmet while batting yesterday.

Fynn H-P has come in as a concussion replacement for Garton who was hit on the helmet while batting yesterday. He should have been selected in the first place. Hope no longer term repercussions for Garton who’s had enough bad luck in recent years.

Great morning for Sussex. Crocombe has bowled like Archer!

Effectively 111/5 at lunch. A much improved performance from our bowlers this morning.

Great morning for Sussex. Crocombe has bowled like Archer! I might have spoken too soon about Crocombe and Hunt yesterday. If they’ve stepped up a gear from last year then we really do have strong bowling reserves at last.

189 all out, tremendous effort from Crocombe and H-P. Special mention for Carter who took 7 catches in the match.
Sussex require 231 to win. 45 overs left in the day.
