We need cover otherwise you’d be asking the same 4/5 bowlers to play every single game. How good is the cover? We need quality rather than quantity. Have a look at whats available out there, there is nothing. It's bonkers to have no cover at all.

Archer, Robinson and Jordan were as good as any county's pace attack a few years ago. Steve Magoffin was one of the most reliable quick bowlers on the County circuit before that. With Robinson being under England's control, we do need two quality pace bowlers for the whole season if we have any aspirations of playing in CC Division One again. Although we have several young quicks, none of them is close to being one of the two quality pace bowlers we need. Maybe, one of them will rise above the others, but I have no idea which of the pack it might be, to be honest.

sixandout,
I also question James Kirtley's ability as a bowling coach. Jon Lewis's capability is way ahead of Kirtley's and since losing him to England, we have not recovered. From the crop of seamer youngsters, perhaps, only Crocombe looks the part and he still has quite a way to go.
Until we have bowlers that can take 20 wickets a match, our hopes of promotion to Division 1 are somewhat forlorn. Obviously, Farbrace and his team know this, so it will be interesting to see developments during the rest of the season.
