An unbroken seventh wicket stand of 99 in 11 overs between Joseph Ludlow (83* off 66 balls) and Daniel Doram (54* off 37 balls) took Sussex to an unlikely four wicket win over Middlesex. Beck Hemingway (88) and Dominic Sear (50) shared a second wicket stand of 124. Middlesex declared on 333-7 with Holden scoring 178. For Sussex spinners Daniel Doram (4-74) and Jacob Smith took the wickets. www.crichq.com/#matches/164164

CP many thanks for posting these scorecards. Where do you find the sussex U17 fixtures, as unless i am mistaken they are not shown on the main website, despite there being a slot for that age group? What is the format for these games, as I note each team bowled around 80 overs?

What is the format for these games, as I note each team bowled around 80 overs? One innings apiece . Whoever scores the most wins. In the event both teams are bowled out early then the team who batted first would bat out the game unless the team who batted second is following on. It was a sporting declaration by Middlesex as they could have batted on and batted us out of the game. They didn't take account of Ludlow and Doram. No Cammish or Hooper for the Development XI today.
Possible team: Haines, Hemingway, Shoare (c), Hudson-Prentice, Salt, Moses, Grant, Garton, Maskell (+), Smith, Hayward
Under 17s face Surrey away on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Surrey possible team (in alphabetical order): Allen (c), Batchelor (+), Culff, Curran, Dahl, Erasmus, Holder, Holmes, Jacks, Jones, Patel, Verdi
If Vardi, Holmes and Patel are unavailable because of the Bunbury Festival I would expect Freddy Austin, Sony Cott and Alex Shoff to come in.
Sussex Possible team: Hemingway, Sear, Haines, Cammish (+), Ludlow, Garton (c), Doram, Oxley, Jacob Smith, Collard, Rattle, Allen
If Oxley is unavailable because of the Bunbury Festival I would expect one of Billings, Haynes, Maskell, Piper, Nick Smith or Twine to replace him.

An extremely poor batting performance from the Under 17s as they were bowled out for just 102 with only Dominic Sear (43) making double figures and with only Tom Haines, Nick Oxley (both Bunbury), Sam Rattle and Will Collard missing. www.crichq.com/#matches/168330/live

Leo Cammish and George Garton named in the London and East U17 squad for the Super 4's tournament at Loughborough next week. Well deserved too.

With three quarters of the Under 17s games completed and having lost both games against Surrey Cammish, Doram, Garton, Haines, Rattle and Sear have been the standout performers. Garton and Cammish have also been selected for the Super 4s. Allen, Browning, Hemingway, Ludlow and Jacob Smith have disappointed me. Hemingway maybe second top run scorer with 399 runs @ 26.6 but two fifties from 15 innings is a disappointing return and will need a strong finish to retain his place in the Academy.
Collard, Haines, Oxley and Rattle have been the standout performers for the Under 15s. Haines and Oxley were also selected for the Bunbury Festival.
Burt, Collis and Wake have been the standout performers for the Under 17s. Burt and Collis have also appeared for Sussex Womens team.
