CP, where do you find all the batting/ bowling stats? Between Sussex Cricket in the Community Trust website, Sussex cricket board website and crichq. Batting averages (Qualification: 200 runs) Haines 509 @ 42 HS 120 1 100 / 4 50s Hemingway 399 @ 27 HS 88 0/2 Cammish 390 @ 49 HS 138* 1/3 Salt 303 @ 152 HS 147* 1/2 Sear 253 @ 32 HS 87 0/2 Garton 246 @ 25 HS 64* 0/2 Bowling averages (Qualification: 10 wickets): Garton 20 wickets @ 17 BB 5-36 0 4wI / 2 5wI Collard 19w @ 13 BB 4-51 1/0 Doram 15w @ 15 BB 5-37 1/2 Rattle 15w @ 18 BB 4-31 1/0 Smith 15w @ 36 BB 3-136 Oxley 10w @ 24 BB 2-24 Oxley impressed at the Bunbury Festival taking 8 wickets in 5 games. Garton has taken 20 wickets for the third season running showing which goes to show it is possible for seamers to take wickets at this level.

No Haines or Shoare tomorrow so the team might be something like this: Sear, Hemingway, Cammish (+), Salt, Hudson-Prentice, Moses, Grant, Hooper, Garton (c), Hayward, Sakande

Cammish and Hooper play for Hastings tomorrow at Brentwood in the quater finals of the Royal London Club Championships. That also rules out Cammish's understudy Joe Billings and fellow left arm spinner Daniel Doram. I would bring in Sam Rattle, Nick Oxley or Will Collard in place of Hooper and Maskell, Lloyd or Orr in place of Cammish.

Terrific innings by Phil Salt: sussexcl.play-cricket.com/view_results_details?id=11868220Sussex Under 17s play a two-day and a one-day game against Essex at Blackstone this week. I would pick the following XII: Hemingway, Sear, Haines, Cammish (+), Ludlow, Garton (c), Doram, Oxley, J Smith, Allen, Rattle, Collard For Hemingway, Cammish, Ludlow, Garton, Smith and Allen it will be their final two games for the Under 17s. For Ludlow, Smith and Allen it represents one final chance to try and earn a place in next year's Academy squad.

Have any of our youngsters been selected for the England U17's squad? We don't have any in the U19's squad as far as I know

George Garton selected into England U17's invitational squad to play Pakistan U17's and England U19's in Loughborough next week. They must have a bloody good keeping alternative to have not gone with Cammish as he looks an excellent prospect.

I like the sound of George Garton, he sounds a real prospect Incidentally CP, who do you think will get Academy Plus contracts next season, and do they always come from our academy?

I like the sound of George Garton, he sounds a real prospect Incidentally CP, who do you think will get Academy Plus contracts next season, and do they always come from our academy? I would give Academy Plus contracts to Phil Salt, Elliott Hooper and Fynn Hudson-Prentice. Shoare and Hayward have had a disappointing season. I would not offer Grant, Moses, Sakande and Whittingham Academy Plus contracts for 2015 as all four have had disappointing seasons. I would let them earn their place back through their performances for Oxford, Loughborough and the seconds.

Good tidy keep behind the stumps, good at the sweep shot and good at the pull shot.

They must have a bloody good keeping alternative to have not gone with Cammish as he looks an excellent prospect. Selectors have gone with Ryan Davies ( Kent ) and Tom Moores ( son of Peter Moores ) How did Tom end up on Leicestershire's Academy? Oli Batchelor of Surrey has also been picked so that is three keepers in the squad. Cammish reacted well to being snubbed by the nationa selectors by scoring a ton at Blackstone this week.

A mixed season for the Under 17s with the partnership between Doram and Ludlow to win the game against Middlesex, partnerships between Haines and Cammish against Kent and Essex, bowling of Doram and Garton and the six-for by Allen against Essex and the emergence of Sear as an opening batsmen being my personal highlights. Collard, Rattle and Oxley have bowled well for the Under 15s.
Next year could be a challenge as Allen, Browning, Cammish, Garton, Hemingway, Ludlow and Smith are ineligible. That is 1,655 runs and 75 wickets lost. The question is who will come in?
My Under 17 squad for 2015 would be: Tom Haines (Opening Batsman and Captain), Nick Oxley (Left arm Chinaman and Vice-Captain), Joe Billings (Wicketkeeper), Ollie Bradley (Seamer), Tom Clark (Batsman), Will Collard (Leg Spinner), Daniel Doram (Left arm spinner), Will Fazakerley (Seamer), Tom Haynes (Batsman), Harry Lloyd (Wicketkeeper), Ryan Maskell (Wicketkeeper), Alistair Orr (Wicketkeeper), Jamie Piper (Seamer), Sam Ratte (Left arm spinner), Harry Rollings (Batsman), Dominic Sear (Opening Batsman), Nick Smith (Seamer), Ben Twine (Seamer).
My starting XII would be Haines (c), Sear, Oxley, Doram, Haynes, Billings, Lloyd, Maskell (+), Fazakerley, Rattle, Collard, Piper
This would give us seven bowlers with four spinners and three seamers.
Spinners Runs Wickets Average Collard 346 24 Doram 363 17 Rattle 274 15 Oxley 301 11 1284 67 19
Seamers
Bradley 86 1 Fazakerley 103 2 Piper 140 2 Twine 278 2 Smith 379 5 986 12 82
As you can see spin is going to be our source of wickets next year and I would expect all four to play next season alongside two seamers who will open the bowling. On paper Haines (6w @ 31) and Clark (4w @ 17) look viable seam bowling alternatives to the above five seamers although Haines and Clark if selected would be in the side for their batting.
