Durham squad: 5. Paul Collingwood (capt) 23. Mark Stoneman 1. Keaton Jennings 16. Scott Borthwick 18. Michael Richardson 10. Calum MacLeod 2. John Hastings 19. Phil Mustard (wkt) 29. Paul Coughlin 17. Ryan Pringle 9. Graham Onions 22. Chris Rushworth 78. Usman Arshad
Last June the main bowling thrust came from Ben Stokes (7 in an innings, 10 in the match), and Hastings. Stoneman and Jennings scored 100s and Borthwick 95.
Latest news on the weather: Jon Filby reports that "It's brass monkey weather in Durham. I'll be in the pavilion enjoying a Sunday roast." So that's all right then.

I would have saved budget on Robinson and asked him to perform consistently in 2nds before giving a contract! Would have played beer at 8 in this game and waited for Anyon, mills and Hatchett to be fit! And I would have sprinkled fairy dust across the globe to make world peace - fat chance. Beer's gone anyway ain't he? Loaned out to some club side or something. HH, do you really wanna move Machan from three after his breakthrough innings there, your side is too choppy changey, pretty much everyone is bumped about. And all this after two wins out of two. Most people know what team and order it should be, only I'd play Piolet instead of this Robinson lad myself. P.S. Wright should do some bowling too.

It's interesting that they see Mills as an important white ball player. I've seen it mentioned before by Robbo or the skipper, and although he wouldn't seem an obvious candidate, it will be interesting to see how we use him. Certainly most of the stuff I saw in the first two championship games, wouldn't get past the umpires in white ball cricket

I thoroughly agree with the idea of managing his workload, gradually giving him confidence in his own abilities, which will manifest itself in keeping a better line without sacrificing that marvellous speed and aggression. I don't see it as being so effective in white-ball cricket where there is less room to maneouvre and for captains to experiment.

Inspection taking place following heavy overnight rain I think they will get under way on time. They're about to toss and there is a blue sky populated by lots of fluffy, currently non-threatening cotton-wool clouds. A bracing mornng to win the toss and bowl. Whoever is in the field will be hoping for four or five wkts down by lunch, I think.

Wells has been dropped and Finch brought in to the starting XI. That's quite a big and bold call by Joyce and Robinson...

THanks to Durham CCC Twitter for info, by the way. The match starts in a quarter fo an hour and Cricinfo and BBC still have 'teams to be announced'. Durham posted photos of the handwritten team sheets 15 mins ago. Finch for Wells a late decision, judging by Robbo's crossing-outs on the Sussex sheet!
Presumably Joyce will open?

How very surprising: Durham have won the toss and asked Sussex to bat.
