Why am I constantly frustrated by the club's 'systems'?! I've just tried, in vain, to book tickets for this match over the phone, as invited to do so on the club's website. When the phone is answered, all I'm getting is a recording of general information, no-one answers the phone, and the voice eventually says goodbye. I tried this twice. Then I tried the club's 'general' number - same response. Then I realised, BTW, that these were 0844 numbers, so I am being charged for these abortive phone calls. On reflection, why does the club feel entitled to charge 0844 prices to its members? Fed up with this, I then accepted the website's invitation to book tickets online. I tried this twice, but it would not let me choose my seats, despite inviting me to do so. Can anyone please tell me, firstly, where I am going wrong, and secondly, how do I buy tickets over the phone? This is a poor advert for the club. Expect this has been answered but you can only select tickets if you use a PC I can't do it on my iPad

We agree again. I am liking this! Me too, Howard. Believe it or not I never actually wanted a fight!

Just the sort of straightforward, positve management of players and situations that we need, Joe. Thank you so much for sharing this. It should be played as a mantra in the changing room tomorrow ... and repeated ... and repeated .... and repeated.

Better still invite the man into the dressing room to deliver the motivational message himself. Newell had the guts at notts to ask Moores for help. Does Robinson have the guts to seek help in similar fashion from CA? Sadly I fear the bunker mentality is too entrenched for any admission that help is even needed.

Having attended tonight as a premier member who had therefore paid for all group T20 matches and not attended any but paid the extra £20 tonight and also paid for 3 non members I feel extremely short changed. Whilst at the same time I am not surprised at all by the performance. This after all is a team that has now lost its last 8 matches in all competition. I'd like to hope that this awful, embarrassing loss actually galvanises the powers that be into doing something about this mess. Because that is what it now is. People in key positions seem to be getting away with making lame excuses after every loss which in any other walk of life let alone sport wouldn't be tolerated. It is blatantly obvious that change is needed. You can only get by so long explainining things away with a ' we are a family club punching above our weight' attitude. This is professional sport and the team is not performing. From the top down. Sussex WILL be relegated this season. There is no way the current set up can get enough points from 2 matches against Yorkshire and a far superior ( but supposedly inferior) Worcester team to stay up. And that as far as I'm concerned constitutes a disastrous season which doesn't merit one of the highest membership fees in the country

I felt about three seasons ago that Robinson had reached his 'sell by' date but there were only one or two on the old message board that agreed and anyway we somehow survived relegation so I didn't say much.
I feel he is too close to some players whilst others, Beer for instance, struggle to get game time, and this is in a losing side.
It is true that as a non test match ground our income stream is less than some of our competitors, and Sky treat us unfairly with regards to TV coverage which probably impacts too but Sussex can't expect members to fork out to watch dross year on year.

The match was not only a 'sell out', but the ground was practically full. Our row was full; it had been sparsely populated, though sold out, throughout the group games (presumably members applying for tickets just in case - tickets that might have been sold for one or two games)
In the end we had to just enjoy Willey's performance. He got a standing ovation when he was out. The match rather petered out after that.

It always seemed to me that the old Inner Circle became Robbo's fan club. He became friendly with them, and effectively silenced any potential criticism.

Yes, I really like David Willey, he has a lovely droll sense of humour, I watched on Sky and loved his mini interview after he got out. If I had been there I would have stayed for his 100, applauded, then left the ground, and believe me I NEVER leave early for a game I've paid to watch, so Sussex were very bad.

But it will not necessarily be a disaster but a great opportunity to regroup and build for the future and get back to winning ways. I've watched a bit of div two cricket this season and the standard is poor. The likes of wright, shahzad, Jordan and magoffin plus young players like machan, cachopa, finch, hobden, hatchett and Ollie Robinson will destroy other teams in div two and return Sussex to div one within a year and the youngsters will be better and more confident players for the experience of learning how to win again. Also a perfect time for new leadership.
