Seriously? Apart from the word Unofficial in the heading what is the difference? Oh, and I have to keep proving I am human, lol

Gosh that was tricky. Thought I was having problems with my eyesight. Those letters are difficult to read! Got there on the 4th attempt! Would just like to declare I am not a member of any secret society, inner cirlcle, magic triangle or Square as you dare group, but just care about cricket in the South East of England.(Kent & Sussex) Am I allowed to post on here? I spend my time alternating (this season at least) between the two counties. Might be down at Hove this Sun weather and family commitments permitting!

Had great fun making my own avatar. Before you ask Snowy hills as background as I love skiing and jester hat: Harlequins fan. I'm one of over 300 people who set a world record for most people in one place wearing jester hats for Sport Relief at the Stoop in Feb 2014. Mindless information over!

Found my way - we should also be at Hove Sunday though the weather isn't looking promising.

I gather from what I have read lately that this is Messageboard Mark three, wondered if anyone could explain to me, if that is the case, why the first one was closed and replaced. Thanks in advance.

I gather from what I have read lately that this is Messageboard Mark three, wondered if anyone could explain to me, if that is the case, why the first one was closed and replaced. Thanks in advance. I can't remember exactly but the message board originated from sussex website when Fran worked in the office and Chris Adams was skipper, even before mushy joined the staff...( ie more than ten years ago ) I do recall mushys signing being queried by several messageboarders as the year before he played for surrey against us and took no wickets in a match mark Davis took a six for. On the sussex website that board had several lives and often had technical difficulties and had to be re registered a few times. Due to the stress on staff it was migrated to pro boards who run a free messageboard system. Now because of the staffing needs to moderate and the direct association with the club it seems management have preferred to create this new board which is clearly independent of the club. And as has been explained this was to ensure the club is not responsible or liable for the views expressed and does not have to monitor or moderate. for this board to succeed it will need moderators and moderation. As several have noted many former members of the old board have migrated to their own board which requires the use of your real name and invitation. This is of course to minimise puerile argument and keep the board informative and convivial, and avoid trolls and abuse. over the years the messageboards have provide a forum for exchange of information and views and all things sussex....for many including myself it rekindled interest in sussex and allowed a very collegiate atmosphere especially at away games where eventually despite silly names everybody got to know each other.

Thank you, basically it was a logistics thing then. I hope this new board catches on and thrives, and stays good humoured, towards the end there on the old board here were some really quite unpleasant posts from Traindriver which spoilt things rather.
