I presume the strategy, given this slow pitch on which both sides have struggled equally to make decisive breakthroughs or to score at more than 3 per over, will be to accumulate until the Glamorgan total is reached, around lunchtime, and then to accelerate and hope that some of our long tail come off as hitters. Even with a decent lead on first innings it is hard to see this attack bowling Glamorgan out for say 150. No signs so far of spinners having any effect : combined total 56 overs, 2 for 150 in the match so far.
Still, its a sunny day so far and perhaps Wright can get some of his T20 style and flair woven into his championship play and captaincy: that might be the boost that is needed.

Long way ahead but if we win and get 400+ for maximum batting points that takes us to 100 points for the season I believe and right back in contention.

At least that sets out a statement.

There is another alternative: declare as soon as the Glam score is reached. That would leave about 150 overs in the game. If Glam score quickly then we ought to be able to do better with Joyce and Nash in such form and Wright to use his one day skills. If the wicket renains obstinately sliw then nothing is lost and the bowlers of all kinds have a chance to show what they can do.

Congratulations Ben Brown. Healthy lead - deceleration over Tea and hopefully we can get a few wickets in the last session.

No bat until we are 300 ahead and then be all surprised when the match ends in a draw (sarcasm). If we are batting on to make sure we don't bat again we will still be batting tomorrow.

Bit harsh boys, what's the problem? Bad forecast? Weather permitting, we have good time to wrap this up. I should get my bowl-off, unless the quicks blow them away. Looks like a quality turn around to me, especially after Wright went early. Great stuff Wells and Brown. Brown needed that so especially pleased for him and Wells now has three tons from his new position. Bring on the spinners and win this game easily. They are there for a situation like this, if they can't do it, well, sign Chawla.
