Put it this way , I'm not sitting in a deck chair but am in pavilion. That's how I saw it was a no ball!

Ed goes - clean bowled. We need the middle order to fire! 63-3.

This looks like a good toss for Durham to have won, and the conditions sound right for their battery of seamers. What does borderman think from his protected position?

Curious how similar the scores are in all the matches being played today. Nobody racing ahead, wickets falling steadily.
Hampshire vs Glamorgan at Southampton Glamorgan 153/7 Middlesex vs Lancashire at Lord's Lancashire 134/4 Surrey vs Gloucs at The Oval Gloucs 131/6 Sussex vs Durham at Hove Sussex 164/5 Yorkshire vs Warwickshire at Leeds Yorkshire 140/4

Lukey dropped on 80. Absolute sitter. Onward to 100 and let the luck be with you. Fantastic partnership this. Now stands at 140.

Well done Brown and Wright - giving our bowlers some really strong foundations on which to build.

New 6th wicket record for Sussex by Brown and Wright, beating 255 by Duleepsinjhi and Maurice Tate v Northants in 1930.

BLOODY BRILLIANT!!! 404-5 and an on-going 289 partnership. The Durham fielder dropping Lukey on 80 at deep mid-wicket. Will he sleep tonight?

Too busy kicking myself for not going to watch today, whatever the cost, however chancy the forecast might have been....never mind, tomorrow is another day.

Can this partnership get any better? 314 runs - WAHEY! Presently, scoring at 5.5 runs an over. What a turn-a-round after being 115-5. Does anyone remember anything better than this from the middle-order in recent times?
Matt Prior tweets: "Looks like absolute carnage at Hove today! Unbelievable stuff..."

Just back from Hove. Goodness, it was a cold day, but worth it to see Luke and Ben in action. Great partnership, and they made it look so easy.
So much for the weather forecast!

Something else to aspire to, perhaps:

Close of play 441-5. Wright on 183* and Brown on 152*. Rapturous applause as they came off the field. It can't get much better than this. Run rate from last 10 overs - 6.3. Partnership is presently 326*. Sussex are marmalising Durham. Please, please, can the weather behave itself this week!
