I hope there is some more cricket today - I was about to tune in over my breakfast and it looks like the wind is slightly north of west which might keep the showers going for too long today. They must declare now.

Superb pic.
The umpires are inspecting the pitch but it doesn't look good. The outfield got a right soaking earlier after several downpours. With two hours of potential play left, is it worth returning? It seems tomorrow looks a little iffy too but not as bad as today. Which offers Sussex two days to bowl Durham out twice. And without Jordan that won't be easy, especially when our seamers are no spring-chickens.
Next ground inspection: 5.15pm.
At least, the weather looks sunny for Friday evening when the 'T20 Blast' kicks off against Surrey. Let's hope for a full-house where 70% of the crowd book tickets in advance and the remaining 30% turn up on the day as they wait to see if the weather behaves itself. Apart from the Somerset match when a fair number were away supporters, attendances at the home Championship matches have been disappointing, to say the least. So, Friday is an important money-spinner for the club.
Interesting piece of trivia: Sussex expect to sell around 6,400 pints during the evening, where drink and food sales contribute up to 30% of the overall match revenue.

I notice Nash bowled 6 overs today (out of 45 in total), but Zaidi wasn't bowled at all.

Foiled by weather again - Wright and Brown, astonishing. Is Prior sposed to be keeping in the next game? Don't get why Nash bowled six and Zaidi none but it ain't right - a lack of faith. The guy's gotta go to the seconds, where he should have been in the first place.

Looks like the best we can now hope for is to add maximum bowling points.

Bloody ridiculous. I've been in Reading today and it was blue skies without a drop of rain. I return to Brighton and there are puddles everywhere.

A result doesn't seem very likely, but it would be nice to reassert the dominance that Wright and Brown showed with some wicket-taking today, and as I've never seen Sangakkara bat I'm keen to see what all the fuss has been about. Cricinfo said he gave a couple of chances yesterday - but then their reporter also apparently thinks there are still three points for a draw, so perhaps he got that wrong too,
Anyway - sunshine at last, and Sussex by the Sea.

Nice of us to gift them those batting points the other day wasn't it?

Zaidi being allowed to bowl today - now that the game is dead.
