Here we go again . . .
I sincerely hope that Rob Andrew:
1. has discovered for himself the club's underlying problems.
and
2. has the resolve (and the board's backing) to break up this 'happy family' nonsense.

Oh look!A batting point... And would you believe it, another batting point! Funny what you can do when you get down to 8, 9, 10, jack and you sense your credibility has been completely eroded. Good for Luke Wright, anyway.

Yep, the one major positive is Wright discovering some runs again. Let's hope this is the start of many during the rest of September. Let's prepare ourselves for the 5 Derbyshire wickets before close of play.

I really think Archer should be rested for the last 2 games. He's got 400+ overs in his legs and the last thing we need is for him to break down with another stress fracture to his back. He is becoming less and less effective as the games go on and deserves a break. Jordan will be back for the last 2 and the seam bowling would be more balanced with 2 senior bowlers plus Whittingham and Garton. I think Whittingham and Garton should definitely play the last 2, they both need game time and a run of 3 games would also enable them to get into more of a rhythm. Garton looked rusty to say the least although you can see the potential. Whittingham looked really sharp at times and should probably have been used more. I can see merit in that, but never all together, at least not yet Playing Archer, Robinson, Garton and Whittingham, in same game, was perhaps one too many youngsters

I've said it many times. Talented seamers, rotate them, let them learn and develop. Too many in this game, in fact I can only think that the WI of 80's & 90's would have 5 seamers but they would always have 1 spinner. Sussex again unbalanced. What's the point of resting Archer now? He's got 6-7 months off! My whole rant has been the wrong side being picked. I can only think of Leics where I was happy with the team and balance. What happened? A fine win. I blame Greenfield for the strategy and Davo for implementation. 1 dimensional, no imagination and no faith in the academy process.
Time for a change.
I can't make the meeting/forum but if someone would ask RA what Greenfield & Davo have achieved this year I would be grateful.

I went to Day one and have to say the body language even then was defeatist. The team look unbalanced and devoid of ideas and confidence. As Derbyshire press on for victory , perhaps this will be for the best in the long run. Mark Davis has the look of a man who is on borrowe time one hopes. RA needs to grasp the nettle here and shake the club up . The Sussex family mentality is seeing us drift to a mid table Div Two team. Too many players have it far too comfortable with their careers either drifting along or plodding along. Another season of mediocrity sees us each year fall further and further behind the other teams. On paper we have a decent squad BUT it's too one dimensional . Our batting continues to get worse each season and it's all rather sad.
Radical action is required , should Davis & Greenfield and the jobs for the boys continues into another season and the same results will be in evidence in 12m time, perhaps even worse .
Dear oh dear oh dear....

Well done to Stu Whittingham on his 5fer which was the only highlight in an otherwise dismal day.
If they declare overnight it will be a run chase of 4 an over, lets see if our highly paid senior batsmen can justify their place in the side.
But don't hold your breath!

An overhaul of the coaching staff is required together with getting rid of this ridiculous family notion. Sussex are supposed to be a professional cricket club not an amateur Sunday league team.
Worcestershire getting promoted with ten Academy players and one overseas player. Sussex should follow Worcestershire's example for success.

If anything sums up Sussex's season three fours in a row and then a wicket typifies it. Typical briainless cricket from Sussex.

Sussex grateful for the fact that Derbyshire have six club standard bowlers. Without Viljoen they would have lost already. He is certainly well above the standard of any of the bowlers from either team.

Van Zyl why did you do that? Score the runs off the six other club standard bowlers at the other club FFS! Derbyshire did not look like taking a wicket until you chucked your wicket away.
