A third placed finish would be a real bonus following what has been a stop start injury blighted campaign. Agree that it's the bowling we now need to concentrate on, especially as we are now likely to see less of Jordan Although we could probably do with two new seamers, and a spinner, our limited budget is like to only stretch to maybe two new recruits. Personally, I can't see further than Tredwell as far as the spinner goes. He ticks all the boxes, well most of them anyway. He's a good team man, a gutsy performer who seems to be well liked here at Hove. He adds control and lower order batting to our championship line up. Of course, we've yet to see him perform for Sussex in the one day games, which is now probably his best format. As I posted in the other thread, the thought of him, Yardy and Beer tying up those middle overs, encourages me to believe that we could get our one day show back on the road again. The one fly in the ointment, as it were, is that Tredwell is still under contract to play for Kent. As for a seamer, it's likely that we may find ourselves in the same position, in that the bowlers we might fancy are still contracted elsewhere. So who? Well there have been mutterings about Willey being unhappy at recently relegated Northants. Likewise, similar mutterings regarding Mills at Essex. I also don't think Middlesex would stand in the way of James Harris, were he to request to leave. None of those would come cheap though, and I don't think Robbo has too much room to manoeuvre
However, that is where Robbo will earn his corn, but back to this season and it would be nice to end the campaign on a positive note. The last two games are definitely winnable, demoralised Notts are struggling for batting and I suspect already relegated Northants will be giving more of their youngsters a chance.
