Feed looks decent enough so far this morning. Great start but two slips no gully, over a ton lead, bowling at the tail? Negative.

Well done Meaker, Crocombe and Atkins this morning. Have given Sussex a decent first innings lead. 98 for 0. Fantastic effort all round. Let's hope the rain stays away and the sun shines tomorrow on a Sussex victory.

Impressed by Meaker this match. Obviously, been told by Salsbury to bowl with more fire in the belly and it has paid off. Pleased for Atkins and his second wicket. Perhaps, we do still have the same bite without Robinson? It just keeps getting better for the club. Down to the batters to score us another 300 runs. Come on Thomason get a fifty. Meanwhile, an interview with Jamie Atkins from yesterday evening. He comes over as a level-headed lad. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kccP3xf-dWM&t=268s

Great stuff, 37/4 this morning wraps up a good showing with the ball with everyone contributing.
No Head, no Salt and no Robinson, no problem!

Yes agreed about Meaker, had felt that when he’d come on to bowl, the pressure was lifted somewhat in previous matches. As he’s not as quick as he used to be, it was difficult to see what his role is now, but he was rightly selected to give us that experience with no Robinson in the team, and has stepped up here. As you say, bowled with more aggression, particularly yesterday with the short ball to Wells and then the fuller one to induce the drive and the nick, and got his reward with some excellent figures.

Oops, there is that uncomfortable deja vu of last season's top order batting collapses. Hopefully, it is down more to the pitch than the Sussex batters. If so, thank goodness for the 98 run start. At lunch: Sussex 37-3 or 135-3 (the second score looks so much better).

Any excuse for a pop at Brown. How did that work out? Yeah, shut it Liquidskin, you dumbo. No you shut it, handsome. Heaven forbid a comment about our tactics. They were negative, regardless of the outcome. Dumbo. For the record, I like Brown, he's a homie after all. Don't think he should be skipper though. Anyway, we got enough what with Mushy mark 2. Declare with a 200 lead.

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 vs Lancashire (a) - 155 & 26 vs Glamorgan (a) - 87 & 6 vs Yorkshire (h) - 86 & 37 vs Lancashire (h) - 58 & 19
1st innings great. 2nd innings rubbish!
What a truly depressing batting performance.
What are Ashley Wright and Jason Swift credentials to be a batting coach?

Tom, Dick, Sarah and the dog reckons 250 could be a competitive score. Come on Delray and Jack, let's get us there. Sussex: 215-7 (aggregate score).
edit: This Jack is a little bit special. As with all top spinners they can bat a bit too. Hell... Carson goes. Early tea. Put that special brew in the Sussex urn, please, like yesterday. At tea Sussex 237-8.Time for Delray to treat this match like a T20. PS: Keep up the schizophrenia liquidskin! edit: Reached the 250 mark, but Sussex all out for 252. 14 wickets in the day. Hopefully, this will increase between now and the end of play.

It will come back and bite them. Kirtley happy to sing praises of fast bowlers; and we do have some promising youngsters. But he needs to understand the need for good young batters. This is a hard skill in English conditions. We should as a priority invest in a batting coach that has a good pedigree at the top level. Why hasn't Greenfield got it sorted? Why did we lose Yardy to Kent on his return from Australia?

Plenty of teams turned over for less in this round. So 253 for Lancs to win. Looked as if Parky was getting some good purchase, c’mon Jack do your thing.
