How on earth has Delray kept his place when Ali Orr in the 2s has been battling very well don’t understand why they keep picking Delray seems what ever he does he will never be dropped give Ali Orr a chance certainly can’t do any worse than Mr Rawlings 😡😡😡

A very inexperienced attack. Garton the senior player who’s only played 21 first class games.

Unless there's a very good reason, young Orr should be playing. Message sent out by Salisbury is so wrong. Get runs for the 2s and you don't get an opportunity. Rawlins and Clarke can count themselves lucky. Rawlins must be playing as a bowler. Both Rawlins and Clarke did not play in the 2s last week. I can't work this one out.

That is typical Sussex they give the lad a contract he proves he can score runs and has the application unlike some of the Sussex 1st team what more has he got to do it seems Mr Rawlings is untouchable

Rawlins bowls a lot of overs which is why he is selected. I reckon get behind the team rather than knocking a kid.

Presumably Ollie Rob won’t be available and we still have few bowlers with injuries plus Phil Salt. Thomason Haines van Zyl Head Clark Brown Rawlins Garton Meaker Carson Crocombe With no Archer and Robinson we need five bowlers. We tried 7 batsmen and 4 bowlers at Northants and got stuffed. When you play the extra it invariably backfires as everyone leaves it to the next batsmen until you are all out! I expect Atkins, Crocombe and Meaker to come in for Archer, Rawlins and Robinson. If we play as rubbish as we did at Northampton we will be stuffed again! I bet Sanderson and Berg can't wait to bowl to our useless batsmen. More easy wickets for the pair. I fear another innings defeat is on the cards as we are arguably currently have the weakest squad in county cricket. Absolutely 100% in agreement CP. We got a roasting at Northants playing 3 bowlers, one a rookie who clearly wasn't ready. We would have got another roasting in our last match against Kent if the weather hadn't intervened, playing 3 bowlers when there was clearly a doubt over the fitness of one. We lost Hunt to a side strain in an earlier match and do I recall Garton had a few issues in a previous match. We do not seem to be learning from past mistakes. Playing only three seam bowlers is risky in normal times, let alone with a young inexperienced attack that have at times this season been absolutely toothless, particularly in the second innings. We have Garton as a recognised all rounder to balance the team, so there should be no excuse. Realistically, we are where we are in the table on merit. We are a young side and despite a few high points are simply not at the level of other Counties at present. The Management are gambling that this young crop with experience will be good enough to compete over time. We can but hope they are right. It would be good though if they were to nail their colours to the mast and push the most promising of the youngsters consistently, rather than keep mixing it up. So far, for me Atkins and Hunt have looked the best prospects, based on a small sample size I admit. Others may have a different view. In short, our bowling attack isn't good enough and Robinson aside, our senior bowlers aren't good enough to help them with their development. Jordan is more a white ball player, Meaker has his own struggles and I think we are all pretty much unanimous on our feelings that Claydon should not still be at the Club. I very much hope I am wrong, but unless our batsmen fire or the weather plays a part (both producing a draw), expect another heavy defeat. I can already visualise Brown throwing the ball to Clark in order to wrestle back some degree of control as we trundle along waiting their declaration. With Labuschagne due runs for Glamorgan, a trip to Yorkshire and Stevens and Kent to pick up where they left off still to come, start making plans for Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Worcestershire and Middlesex for August and September and a battle for the Wooden Spoon. Our hopes very much rest with the T20.

Give him time. how much time does he need wouldn’t be so bad if he was getting out to good balls instead of throwing his wicket away 9 times out of 10 more application at the crease is needed perhaps a day batting in the 2s might do him some good

His off spin as i said is the reason he is selected it allows us to balance the side better.

He hasn't deserved it and hasn't got runs in the 2s. Head can bowl if needed. This treatment of Rawlins could backfire. What does Orr have to do. I think there is a focus on youth and the future, but this has to be consistent. I honestly hope Rawlins gets a big score in this game.

I think Rawlins has been made the scapegoat for a lot of batting failures. Perosnally i thought Thomasen was lucky to play this game.
