Exactly for most posters on here it's about being right rather than supporting the team. I've been called all sorts on here purely for seeing the good in the process rather than jump on bandwagons such as Matt Priors one man crusade. It must be a proud moment for all Sussex fans seeing 3 homegrown players past 50 and to fight the way they did today after being stuck in

Well well well. Bit surprised there isn't more delight on here. Great opening day, how good it is to see a first innings still going after 300. I presume everyone's in shock.
Good looking team to me, openers are really impressive now - is there a team anyone can think of that needs a couple? Not me. Very pleased for Clark and Rawlins - two lads yet to get going.
Great start.

Hi Kent Fan in peace here. I thought that your young players acquitted themselves well. Good knocks from Haines leading by example and Ali Orr. Was typical first game of the season weather. Blooming cold. Left at 5pm and am still thawing out despite wearing 4 layers. Bit annoyed that I was not able to collect any autographs in this years Who's Who before start of play. No access to where I normally sit(benches by players pavilion steps) which was also annoying. Sat in pavilion, so some shelter from the wind but still cold. Hope to be down for Durham game. Am planning on going to Canterbury next Thursday. Taking into account the lorry park which was formerly the M20, if I leave tomorrow do you Will I get here in time for start of play next Thursday?

At the end of last season, it would have been easy to say Haines - definitely good enough, Orr - probably good enough, Clark - may be good enough but a long way to go, Rawlins - not good enough. I have read as such on here many times. After today, it's hard to argue that all four performed very well. Rawlins looks as though he has listened to some coaching and made one bad decision on 49. Clark may not have looked overly fluid, but he battled away and picked gaps in the field cleverly. The run out was the only silliness and, according to a nearby spectator looking at the replay, Alsop was unlucky to be given out LBW to a straight one that was going over the top. I was unable to see Carter's dismissal clearly, but it looked as though he played a bad shot to a bad ball. 300 on the board at the end of day one is decent at any time; in April, it's a damn good start. Let's hope we can push on in the morning and get amongst Notts strong top order quickly. I can't see Pujara or Rizwan getting in this team (smiley face thingy).

Jon Filby is presently chatting with Adrian Harms. Jon is doing a good job at answering some fair, but difficult questions. He's going to do far better as Club Chair communicating with supporters than Bob Warren ever did. Jon's three future and primary goals while leading the Sussex Board. 1/ Winning cricket matches leading to trophies. 2/ For people to want to be part of Sussex CCC. 3/ A strong relationship with the ECB where the Club remains at the centre of English cricket. Meanwhile, well done Clark for your maiden century. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKO53014All looks hunky dory for Sussex... at present.

Great start for Finn and Crocombe bowled well.
Why was Lenham only given one over? No bowling for Ibrahim?
I see Pujara is here batting in the nets. Future looks bright for you boys.

As ever the first hour of tomorrow morning is all important. Three early Notts wickets and Sussex could even lead by 100 runs after first innings (I know... goatmouth time!) Then, it is all about how our batsmen fair in the second innings with no collapses as seen last season alongside a new mentality and belief that bellows, "We can win this!" A three hundred plus total on Day 4 for Notts to chase and Sussex have a chance. Imagine what a win would do for the team's confidence. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKO53014

Hmm, fiddle de de, fiddle de doo. That sort a day. Thought it drifted a bit at the end, although that might have been the wind on my laptop. Finish them for 300 odd and we're looking good. Congrats to Clarke, can't be dropping him when these guns turn up. It'll have to be the needless and negative loan - nothing percy.
I think Ibrahim got injured Steve. Lenham could have definitely had more, especially at the end.
Big morning.
