Hands up. Goatmouth time. Notts sail through 300 at breakneck speed with just one wicket lost during the morning. Another six and four from Mullaney (119*). Exhibition batting from him. Class shining through. Notts: 309-6. Just 64 runs behind. The new ball is proving very expensive for the Sussex bowlers.

Sussex have a leg spinner and they only bowl him one over when they need wickets. Unbelievable!!!!!

Clearly not fancied yet, but still...
When are Robinson, Archer, Garton & H-P back again? Next week?

Ho-hum. The Sussex bowlers are looking clueless. I can see Notts getting a 150+ first innings lead which poses the question. Will last season then be repeated where a defeated-looking Sussex experience a second innings batting collapse and give Notts an innings win? If not, the youngsters are maturing and improving. This will be an important test. It looked so good at 52-4.

Live stream is rubbish today. Very frustrating. Sussex struggling like the stream.

Shocking shot from Haines. Aggressive batting is working well for him so don't stop, unless it's five to six.
Big day tomorrow, a loss is understandable but no collapses man.

Same ol', same ol'.
Notts declare 159 runs ahead and our captain gets out for 14 runs in the second innings with Sussex ending on 28-1, 131 runs away from parity.
As stated before, tomorrow is going to be a very interesting passage of play. Will Sussex suffer a batting collapse and repeat last season or do they now have the mental fight and improvement to make a fist of it?
We should know by Sunday lunchtime.

Thanks Sharkey, I can always trust you to answer my pertinent, or otherwise, questions. Unlike all these other mother truckers.
I think we lose. Some fight will do me. If you add Pujara, Rizwan, Robinson, Garton, H-P and Carson to this team - well it's a lot better.
Have to agree though that there's zero point in picking Lenham if you don't bowl him with such a big score on the board. May as well have played another batter, like his brother. Also don't get why Haines thinks himself 1st change. Muddled thinking already from the young skipper.

The coaches get it wrong sometimes with selection.
My lot at Edgbaston aren’t playing a specialist spinner when we have Virdi and Moriarty 2 good spinners. Your old boy Briggs bowled well and one of those 2 would have given us a better chance of winning but neither of them were picked!!
This Notts attack isn’t anything special you will get a draw.

Pathetic.
The sooner Pujara, Rizwan, Garton, Hudson-Prentice, Robinson and Carson replace Alsop, Atkins, Crocombe, Ibrahim, Lenham and Rawlins the better.

Describing a team with an average age of 21 5 as pathetic really isn't helpful. We have a long list of injuries and players unavailable and not having Ibrahims bowling and batting really hindered us
