Of course, cricket is a team game, but in this match two players have stood out and put “the team”
in a strong position. Robinson with 8 wickets so far and Pujara’s 136. Without those two contributions,
this match would have gone a different way.
Each season there are signs of improvement from some of our youngsters. For example, Carter and
FHP have made progress, perhaps Coles. Orr, Alsop and Haines are similar to last year. Hunt and Crocombe
are showing some signs of improvement, but there is still a long way to go. Great shame about Carson’s
returning injury. High hopes there. This is not about taking negatives from a positive, just cold and clear
fact.
Meanwhile, we may not see Robinson again in the Championship after Glamorgan and Pujara is off
on International duty from late June and, perhaps, for much of the remaining season.
If we are to win games and build up points, these next three are vital.

Pujara was class but don't underestimate the importance of the contributions of Carter and Hudson-Prentice.

Don’t expect to see any play today. We’ll need some quick wickets tomorrow if we’re to force a win. You’re right. Stumps declared at 3ish. We need to bowl Worcestershire out for 200-250 tomorrow. Who knows if we can win? |

Weather looking decidedly better for tomorrow but the ground has had a real soaking today. Fingers crossed for a full day.

Disappointing end to the morning play after the initial fireworks from Ollie. The problem being we
can't rely on him to take all the wickets. No idea why Hunt bowled for so long. Crocombe looked
a little more dangerous, but once more the difference between Robinson and our other fast bowlers
is there to be seen.
That run out in the last over, Harms reckons the umpire never saw it and therefore couldn't give it
out, even when the two commentators suggested it may have been out. All seems rather ridiculous.
After lunch and its all eyes on Ollie to be Superman.

Looks like a draw. Would we have won with McAndrew instead of Smith? We’ll never know.
