Oh I know he’s going to play, I guess my point is I still don’t understand signing him when we needed (and more pertinently have) an overseas quick! Had Pujara been unavailable and he’d come in as a replacement then absolutely no argument from me. The thing is we have stacks of seamers, the problem is their form is highlighting a problem.

The Adrian Harms interviews with Pujara and Robinson (at bottom of page). Ollie seems fine, just an attack of cramp. He is looking forward to the next match against Leicestershire, but will the ECB allow him to play? sussexcricket.co.uk/news/sussex-vs-worcestershire-day-4-match-reportThe county division 2 averages (see link below) tells a story. While Pujara is way ahead of the batsmen with 468 runs after just six innings and a 78 average, only Carter and Alsop have scored over 200 runs each. Re: Bowling, apart from Ollie, only our O/S McAndrew is up there with the best. Crocombe has 11 wickets, FHP 9, Carson 7 and Hunt 5. So, Robinson and McAndrew have taken 30 wickets between them. While, the club has got a good balance now between top O/S players and the youngsters, the latter still have a mountain to climb if we are to become a county force over the next three years. Fingers crossed. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/averages
