Congratulations to Phil. However, for Sussex it leaves a massive hole with no obvious like for like replacement.

Blimey! Didn’t see that one coming but good luck to the lad. Unlikely he’ll play but a huge boost to his confidence none the less.

Obviously, Salt won't be playing at Eastbourne tomorrow. Imho, this call-up is too soon, but good luck to him. You never know, a quick fire 50 runs if he plays and he may become an England regular, although I would be surprised.
A big blow for Sussex, but Salt is a rough diamond still to be honed. The call-up shows England selectors are open to young players with heaps of talent, which can only be a good thing.

Yeah they have, and I know for a fact that they have their eyes on Garton and Rawlins too, James Bond told me. They need to do a bit with their mouths as well and tell Sussex that these two need to be playing more. Garton's already proved he should be and that our OS signing this year was thoughtless by Gillespie, especially if you throw Sakande in the mix. Salt's shown enough, despite inconsistencies. I reckon he'll play, good luck to him.
They are, not have. Frigging idiot.

Well he was fast tracked into the Sussex side, without showing any consistency for the seconds, probably on the strength of that one innings against Glamorgan seconds. Now he has an England call up, which appears somewhat premature. Maybe those who watch him on a regular basis, see something in him that warrants these early promotions. He is capable of playing a sublime innings, but at the moment his style is more suited to playing T20 cricket. Good luck to the lad though, and I hope he gets a chance to actually play

This is a blow for the lad and for Sussex. He has been in good form of late and also a decent slip fielder. Hopefully it won’t be a long lay off.
We’re a bit short of replacements, or at least replacements who are in form. I guess Haines will come back in although he’s struggling in the 2’s at the moment. Or could we ask for Burgess to come back as a batsman?

Another fail for Salt in the BBL today. Why oh why doesn’t he learn? He goes hard from ball one and plays the ugliest shots. Surely someone has to have a word with him, tell him to have a couple of sighters first?

Is the guy who does all the Sussex social media related to or married to Phil Salt?
Really is getting on my nerves now how many times Salt is flagged up when he’s done nothing. I’d rather have no news than the sort of rubbish which keeps being posted.
