Maybe we've found the pillar we need at three.

A great knock from young Salt, but there's a long way to go before he, or any other of the Sussex youngsters, can think about replacing Joyce. We are currently in no position to lose our best batsman, but if we do, we'll have to look outside for his replacement

Really impressed with Phil Salt. Add Whittingham and Finch to that list; then Hudson-Prentice when he returns from injury and it appears we have a list of youngsters to match RMJ, Kirtley, Lewry, Prior and Yardy when they emerged. Salt even has a spicy sense of humour, although a little bit concerned about his 'taking it deep' so many times.

And Garton who has been the most impressive of all the youngsters ( and who is actually the youngest! )

Have noticed this sort of repetition before

I have to agree with a Lot of that... could really be the Genesis of something The Revelation (of Robbo's Legacy) more like. After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
Unfortunately most of them weren't much cop at wielding the palm branches and the Lamb had already checked-in with Qantas for the flight back.

As the name of the player was not included in the title of the thread in which we are discussing him, I thought it would be helpful to commence a new one. See below:- Totally agree with Liquidskin. As far as I am concerned Salt is our most promising youngster with the bat and it is both a travesty and a mystery as to why he did not feature more this season particularly in white ball competition. I heard the Radio Wales post match interview with Jacques Rudolph the Glamorgan skipper and South African International after Salt featured in the rain effected 20/20 match at Cardiff in June which was eventually called off. Rudolph commented a number of times on Salt's talent after he had come in at 3 and bludgeoned the Glamorgan bowlers to all parts of the ground (he had a run rate of 800 after the first 2 balls). I have no doubts whatsoever that other Counties are now monitoring the situation closely as his current contract with Sussex CCC nears expiration. I hope that Mark Davis and Rob Andrew do whatever it takes to keep him here! Read more: unofficialsussexccc.freeforums.net/thread/1002/rawlins-sakande-whittingham#ixzz4tQ9p1Hj0

Still no news? If he leaves, will we offer young Tom Haines a contract

We should be offering Haines a contract regardless of whether Salt stays or goes.
