Sunday sees the return of proper cricket.
Sussex will be without Pujara although they will have Shipley.
Both teams are challenging for promotion and with Durham playing Glamorgan it is a vital week. If the home teams win a game would be created and if the away teams win it would tighten up further.
With no Orr, Pujara, Robinson or Smith four changes are guaranteed.
Carter got his career best score of 185 batting at number 4. On that occasion Tom Alsop opened and Tom Clark batted at 3 and I am not sure in what order these two will bat (with Haines at 2 and Ibrahim at 6).
What will be the Sussex XI?
Clark Haines Alsop (c) Carter wk
Coles Ibrahim Hudson-Prentice McAndrew Shipley Carson Karvelas

Where are the leaders? It's basically the T20 without Bopara.
Earlier, someone mentioned Lenham. Thrown under the bus too young by the idiots at the time. Figures in the 2nd T20 not good enough to be considered. Garton, broken heart? Probably looking to escape to another country or USA? Watch this space as they say.
Salisbury has a lot to answer for. Poor man management of these young men. Most are still young men, they have not developed.

Hardly as it has five changes with Carter, Ibrahim, Shipley, Carson and Karvelas did not play against Essex replacing Burgess, Bopara, Khan, Crocombe and Mills. .

Worcs win the toss and put us in. Crocombe misses out.
A few overheads this morning, could be a tricky start.

Good job they don’t have Tongue available. We have a decent looking bowling lineup so hopefully we don’t need too big a score to be competitive.

Coles looked good for his 48 till he went after a short ball and spooned it to 3rd man.

It was always going to be interesting to see how our young batters were going to cope without the experience of Pujara to galvernize the group.
Yes, batting conditions may be challenging, but Coles and Carter aside, regretfully they haven't managed to step up to the challenge.
The absence of Orr, clearly another contributing factor, but we really needed more from Haines and Alsop.
We need at least one more substantial partnership and a cameo from one of the tail to post a competitive score.

Second batting point as Carson gets 50 and Shipley looks as if he can hold a bat.
Would have taken this when we were 142/6
