Turns out the season isn’t over after all and we have a game at Durham starting tomorrow. The players may need to reintroduce themselves to each other!
Squad is as follows: Alsop, Carson, Carter (wk), Clark, Coles, Crocombe, Haines, Hudson-Prentice, Hunt, Ibrahim, Jaydev, Karvelas, Pujara (c)
My guess is Crocombe and Ibrahim will be the ones to miss out.

Robinson missing yet again. If we are restricted in the games we can select him, then it makes sense to keep him back for those matches we have a greater chance of winning. However, for someone who has played so little cricket this summer, unless he is injured, I find it difficult to understand why the ECB wouldn't want him to play as much as possible this month. Ibrahim was one of the few players who showed any form at the conclusion of our horrendous one day cup campaign plus Farbrace seems to like him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the eleven. Hunt and Crocombe may be the two to miss out. Clark, Haines, Alsop, Pujara, Coles, Ibrahim, Carter, Hudson-Prentice, Carson, Jaydev, Karvelas. This squad of thirteen, plus Robinson (hopefully at some point) and Orr if he recovers from his latest injury set back will determine whether we get promoted or not.

The good news is that Ollie Robinson is in fact playing in this game. The bad news is he’s the Durham wicketkeeper.
I thought Hunt bowled better than Crocombe in the 50 over competition and would be preferred today but he’s not. We have a decent looking attack though so there’s some hope of achieving an unlikely double over Durham.
We’re fortunate that Carse is on England duty. Durham does have the knack of unearthing good pace bowlers.

Durham does have the knack of unearthing good pace bowlers. I am with you SP, if they weren't going to play the extra all-rounder, on recent form thought they would have gone with Hunt over Crocombe. Crocombe took some real tap at times during the One Day Cup, whilst Hunt particularly with the new ball looked to have found some form. Perhaps the fact Crocombe has taken more wickets this season and is considered the greater threat may have got him the nod. Either way, I suspect we will be relying heavily on our new overseas Jaydev if we are going to take 20 wickets. Interestingly, like others I focused on Robinson's absence, yet didn't give Garton a thought. Just shows given how little he has played I didn't even consider him. If he is fit, he should be in the squad, although based on what he has contributed this season at present probably wouldn't be in the starting eleven. Never thought I would say this, but wouldn't be either surprised or disappointed if he moved on at the end of the season.

Yes a few years back it looked like we had two special talents to look forward to in Garton and Rawlins. Neither has fulfilled their promise. Both are young enough to turn things round but the prospects look slim. Maybe Garton might cut it on the global T20 circuit but he’d have to raise his game.

Dreadful collapse from a dreadful team.
In Farbrace's post match interview when asked about Robinson, his exact words are "we haven't seen him since he went off to play in the ashes, we don't know whether he is bowling at the moment, we assume not".
How can Farbrace not know if he's even bowling or not. Surely there's a line of communication between the counties and England around fitness and workloads. If there isn't, firstly why not? Secondly, can Farbrace not just ask him? Not only is Robinson his player, but also his STEPSON for crying out loud.
The lack of noise/information on Garton tells me that he's on his way out the door. Andrew always do this to people who will be leaving. Keep it quiet, inform the media that they won't be entertaining questions on the matter (hence why Harms never asks about Garton) and pray it doesn't get out before it is officially announced by the club. Seen it all before with Salisbury (I know for a fact that Harms knew weeks before it was announced but was told to stay quiet), Salt was kept well away from red ball cricket the year he left, yet it was barely questioned by the media. A lot of people only found out about Richard Halsall leaving after the club put out an advert for a new academy director. Wells was kept away from all cricket the year he left. Sussex only announced the Rawlins departure the day after Jon Filby let it slip that there would be 'news on Rawlins soon'. The next day it was announced that Rawlins had left the club. Rawlins himself had to announced through an article that he wouldn't be playing the early season championship matches.
Divide and conquer, the Rob Andrew way.

Highly disappointing session and you can see our season slipping away slowly and painfully. I think our season has been slipping away since May! Durham are obviously the superior team so our struggles in this game are no surprise but there’s been a malaise affecting us for months now. Would love to hear the uncensored views from Paul Farbrace as to what keeps dragging us down.
